Season 1 – Episode 22
ABC16 Broadcast on Sunday, July, 2016
WVPT-PBS Broadcast on Thursday, July 7, 2016.
Award-winning journalist Coy Barefoot talks with architect and Charlottesville City Councilor Kathy Galvin. They explore a number of recent decisions made by Council— some of them sharply criticized and sparking controversy— regarding development projects in the City. Galvin speaks candidly about a lack of adequate planning that has, over the years, tended to allow developers to get around existent or even non-existent zoning to build whatever they want with easy-to-get “special use” permits. She hopes to see the City embrace better planning going forward. Whither Charlottesville: that’s the topic for this episode of The Coy Barefoot Program.
